It's PETTING ZOO Season!

Petting Zoo Season is finally here! Actually, as a hospital operators we hate Petting Zoo Season. What is Petting Zoo Season you say? What! You have never heard of it? Allow me to explain.

At a Petting Zoo you see the animals, pet the animals, and in some places feed the animals. Well at a Children's Hospital around the Christmas holidays people want to come and see the sick children, talk to the sick children, and give the sick children presents. Unfortunately, this is not allowed because the children are, in fact, sick. Also, parents are very weird about strangers starring at their children, asking them very personal questions, and giving them gifts.

Background . . . check. On to the calls.

Me: Operator.
Caller: Do you know where I make a complaint?
Me: Yes, we have a complaint line. Would you like the number or be transferred?
Caller: Well, I don't know. I called and the girl said we can't come and look at the sick kids.
Me: That is true. The patient floors only allow patient families to visit.
Caller: How am I suppose to teach my children there are less fortunate kids out there if I can't bring them to see the sick kids?

Me: Operator
Caller: I really like little kids and I was wondering if I could dress up like Santa and come sit on the little girl's beds and give them a special gift.

The 80-year old sounding geriatric female may be a creeper. I don't know. You'd be surprised how many people come across creepy.

Me: Operator
Caller: My kids have been really bad lately and I was wondering what time I could bring them up to give presents out to the kids.
Me: If you have a donation for the patients I can connect you with Jane Doe, who is in charge of donations, but we do not allow that type of visitation on our patients floors.
Caller: But I said my kids have been really bad lately.

That's all I can remember right now. If I get more in the next few days I'll post them.
